Overview
Aluminium is a highly thermally conductive material that will quickly transfer the outside climate temperature if steps are not taken to prevent heat conduction. Thermal insulating profiles are poor conductors of heat. It thermally isolates the exterior and interior aluminium frames from each other. This plastic insulation profile acts as a barrier that prevents heat from being transferred directly through the highly thermally conductive aluminium profile.
Polyamide insulation systems will improve thermal performance while maintaining the structure and long-term durability of the fenestration unit. Aluminium is 533 times more thermally conductive than polyamide thermal break strips. Thermal struts involve two separate extrusions that are connected by using an engineered structural polyamide strut.
